I lived in Colombia for a couple years, mostly in Barranquilla in Cartagena. One thing I noticed was they have a lot of holidays, and most of them revolve around Catholic saints. So it seems like every other weekend almost, we'll have Day of Blank Saint, and then there's a party. All holidays in Colombia kind of blend together into one mode of celebration, which is blasting loud music. Not in all of Colombia, on the coast, specifically the Caribbean coast. Blasting loud music, drinking a lot of alcohol, staying up late, and then the next day back to normal. That's pretty much what all holidays entail. Christmas they celebrate on the 24th. Usually they have a large dinner at midnight on the transition from the 24th to the 25th. And it's a good family holiday.
