Aloha! There are so many reasons why I love BYU-Hawaii. I miss it so much. I loved that my roommate was from Slovakia, Vietnam, Samoa, California. Everyone was just from everywhere. I graduated in political science in 2006, and I loved that I was able to meet people from all over the world, and I still am close with a lot of those friends. And I love that in my political science classes, we would really talk about what is it like in your country? How is it with your politics? How is it with your government? What is that affecting? And I just feel like it was so good to just be hands-on and really understand different people from different places. So highly, highly, highly recommend it. I am still dear friends with my friends from there, and I love that everyone's just your auntie, and like so open, and just there's so much love, and there's so much peace there, and I feel like you can just be yourself when there's no judgment. I loved Hawaii.

I love BYUH for so many reasons. I love the cultural experience that you can have. It is such a unique place and a unique place of learning to be amongst so many different cultures and to have so many different perspectives and I grew so much because of that. I love BYUH because of the focus on culture and the many activities that are centered around sharing your culture and I love that. I also love that the intercultural peace building program is so unique because of the many different countries represented on campus and many of their programs are so well developed because of the cultural influence and that's a big reason as to why I love BYUH.

I love BYU-Hawaii because of what it does to you as a person and the opportunity you have to give back. Just like it says, enter to learn, go forth to serve, and that's the whole mission of it. I think it plays such an incredible role in the growth of the church and spreading the gospel around the world. Being a part of the Seasider Ohana is a privilege and a blessing and definitely genuine gold is what you get in return. That's the kind of people that BYU-Hawaii produces. The spirit's amazing and very present. The people are so giving and loving and working with people, children of God, from around the world in classes, on projects, and boards. It's truly a Zion-like community. La'ie, the island Zion, and being a part of BYU-Hawaii has changed my life forever for the better.

Going to VU Hawaii is so special to me and I think it's very special to me mostly because of the people that I connected with. I love that you can see people from all over the world and honestly every time I would hang out with my friends we would always say look at all of us, none of us speak the same language, none of us are from the same country but we all get along and I think that's a good example for the world to know that people from different countries can totally get along. People can be from completely different backgrounds and still love each other more than we can think of and that's one of the ways that I think VU Hawaii became so special. It just taught me that everyone is like part of a big family and in Hawaii it really is even part of the culture that everyone's just a big ohana, everyone's part of one big family.

Obviously it's placed in a very beautiful place. It has wonderful scenery and it's stunning, but I also love BYU-Hawaii for the culture aspect. I so enjoyed getting to know so many people from all over and really opening up my mind to different cultures, different languages, everything. It also is just like a family there, like everybody just loves everybody and supports people and they become your family. And church there, I feel like they're really good at like making you feel included, at least where I went. I don't know, I just really feel like they're so loving there and have the Aloha spirit, as some say.

I love BYU-Hawaii because of the people. It is such an amazing place to feel the community here. I love BYU-Hawaii for the food. The culture is beautiful and the food is amazing and the dancing. The feeling you get as you live here that you just feel loved. You feel the Lord loves these people too. The school works hard to include every student and make everyone feel important. That's why I love it here.

Aloha guys, this is Kailea. I want to talk about why I love BYU-Hawaii and will forever be grateful for attending there. So first off, when I think back, one thing is when you walk down the hallway in a college, at least in the mainland here, people don't make eye contact with each other and they don't smile, they don't really talk to each other. Well at BYU-Hawaii, when you're walking down the hall, people make eye contact with you, people smile at you, everyone's smiling like all the time and it's just a part of the culture there on campus. Another reason why I love it is because it is so diverse. If you want to experience different cultures and make friendships with people from all over the world, this is a perfect place for you and I hope you love it.

Why I love it? It's because it's home. It feels like home. I've been away from my home for five years and never at one place where I felt like I'm in a different place, if that makes sense. No, I felt like I was at home, even though I miss my folks, but I felt like I was at home. It's just the culture, the diversity, getting to know people from different places, different corners of the earth, knowing how they live, how their lifestyles are, and just the environment BYU-Hawaii have. It's really an aloha gifted place, so you can feel the aloha spirit there. It feels like home.

BYU-Hawaii is awesome. You get to meet so many different people from all over the world. You have to get to know them and not just stick to your own bubble. I mean like it is a bubble in itself. You'll figure it out soon enough, but if you talk to people from all over the world, you learn about their culture, learn about their food, try different foods. You have to try different foods. You're never probably ever going to do that ever again. Don't just stick to what you know. BYU-Hawaii, what's great about it is all the different cultures and everything that comes with it. It's amazing. The smaller classes, the professors really know you. Years later, I'm still talking to my professors on social media when I see them in person since I still live in the community, but it's awesome. You make lifelong friendships here.

I love BUA Hawaii because of the people, the spirit that we have here, the curriculum, and there's a lot of opportunities. Before coming to BUA Hawaii, I had a different perspective. I had different expectations and stuff like that, but when I got here, I've experienced, okay, you're not on your own. Yes, you're here to be independent, and you have to be independent, but when you're in the BUA Hawaii ohana or family, you are meant to be here. You're meant to be loved by so many people, and you are loved. You will be supported and cared. Community, they come together in supporting BUA Hawaii students. We have a lot of functions in the community that we're invited, like a lot of families and stuff like that, even our ward members, our ward leaders and stuff, and their families, they always invite students. So BUA Hawaii is not just a university, it's a family.
