One time a group of friends and I, we had gone on a hike and we were heading back. It was dark out and there was a crazy storm that came through with like significant flooding and there were power lines down and so we were stopped on the road. They wouldn't let us cross the road because of the power lines. They had live lines down and pouring rain and the bus dropped us off and said okay you're on your own and dropped us off in the pouring rain and a really nice family took us in, gave us clothes and dried our clothes and gave us food and then once we were able to cross the road they took us back to school. It was very awesome of them.

When I was in several of the singles wards at BYU Hawaii, I always made it a priority to go to the family home evenings. And one family home in particular, we had a scavenger hunt, not just in any one building or one part, it was across campus. And I remember it started to rain halfway through it, and we were laughing, and some of us slept in the mud, and we probably made a little bit too much noise. But it was just a lot of fun to be with a small family evening group. I think only one person got hurt, if I recall. But just to see how much you know the campus, and with the current buildings being built, and with campus kind of getting a facelift and being modernized, doing a scavenger hunt across campus. It was a bit crazy, a lot of fun, and something that stuck with me in this last, oh gosh, 10 years.
