A stereotype of bloggers is that they're not as business apt as some other business professionals. And bloggers are just as business savvy. And they're not all mommy bloggers. There's a whole wide variety of bloggers. There's male, females, there's lots of different variety in terms of topic. But one of the misconceptions I would say is sometimes they have the stereotype that bloggers aren't like super business savvy. But all of the full-time bloggers that I know are all business savvy. And they're super smart and they're really articulate when it comes to how to run a business.

I'd say two of the biggest misconceptions with bloggers is that first if you want to blog you got to be a mommy blogger and that's not true. I'm a guy obviously. There are a ton of mommy bloggers but you can really blog regardless of who you are and what you do. It's all about having a passion about something. That's what blogging is about. The other big misconception I would say is that you've got to do it full-time. That you can't just do it here and there. I work full-time. I was going to school full-time and I wrote and the blog I had on the side helped me to express myself and to not vent necessarily but to have some creative outlet. And so I recommend that blogging is something that you can do no matter who you are and it's something that you can do on the side. It doesn't have to be a job. Now it can turn into one but it doesn't have to start that way and honestly with mine I don't have any plans of it becoming my full-time job. It's just something on the side. Something for me to be able to create.

Common misconceptions that may be true is that all bloggers are women. There are men who blog and who do it well. I think some other common misconceptions is that people don't blog anymore and that used to be a thing in the past before YouTube. While it's true that video content has definitely increased, blogging is still real, it's still strong, it still can produce some very, very good income and it's a great space to be in.
