Watch VideosWhen my daughter was just a few months old, at about 7, 730 every night, she would start to cry. And no matter what I did, I would try to rock her and nurse her. No matter what I did, she would not stop crying until she finally fell asleep or, you know, dropped from exhaustion at about 12 30 a.m. We were both exhausted. We went to the pediatrician when she was four months old and the pediatrician just said, pick a bedtime, put her in her bed and let her cry it out. She'll figure it out in two or three nights. And it was really hard that first night. She sounded like she was dying. But just as he said, within a few nights she figured it out. It turned out she just, she didn't need to be rocked and held and nursed. She just needed to know or she just needed to learn to fall to fall asleep on her own.
