What a typical day is like - YouTuber Video Transcripts

My husband said something really funny. He said, I didn't answer that one because we don't have a typical day and I thought that's a really good way of putting it. We don't really have a typical day because we get to choose our day every day which is an incredible blessing. That is one of my very favorite things about YouTube but I would say a typical day that might include filming would be making sure all of our kids have everything that they need, taking it slow and this is a perfect typical day by the way. It doesn't always happen this way but then you know being super patient with the process and recognizing it takes time and then just pulling out the camera. Having your idea kind of ready to go and start filming and go with the flow. It's hard but it's worth it in the end when you have something that you can present that you're really proud of.

So a typical day for a YouTuber, I think it varies greatly. I think a lot of people, myself included, don't do YouTube full-time. Like, they can make a full-time living off of YouTube while only working a few hours a day on YouTube. Of course, that usually takes a few years to build up. I personally don't usually devote more than, say, one to three hours a day to YouTube, but it's our main income source. And so I spend a lot of my time doing other things as well. I'm doing this Lifey mobile app. So my YouTube channel has kind of helped subsidize that, so it's pretty liberating. At the same time, it can be exhausting and you can experience some serious burnout, feeling like you have to publish a video every day to really help your YouTube channel to grow like it should.

I have several channels. One of them, I guess I call it our main channel, is sort of a family vlog style where we just go throughout our day. So I've got my camera or my phone in hand and we just sort of do things throughout the day, our normal routine. In a way, it kind of takes up the whole day, but we're just doing what we do anyway, so it doesn't take up any time at all, and at the end of the day we edit. The other channel, it's related to my real job as an artist. I'll schedule time to set up the camera and video an entire segment of me just painting a particular painting for the day, and when I'm done, I'm done. I don't do much editing at all of anything on that one, so it's two different ways of doing it. I like both.
