So for vloggers and stuff, you just need like, you can use your phone, you can get some nice cameras, a little stand. For music videos and filming something cinematic, using a DSLR or a mirrorless camera that has autofocus makes a huge difference. And then if you can get a gimbal, I like to have the DJI Ronin-SC one-handed gimbal. And with a Sony a7S III, you're able to get these really pretty shots, really smooth shots. And Sony cameras are great because they also do really well at low light. And they just, they're really good for filming video. So that's what I recommend.

I definitely recommend Canon cameras. So, first of all, you can do anything you want on a cell phone. But if you had a budget and you had some money and you were wanting to get started with with a nice camera, I would recommend the Canon M50 is what we use for all of our filming, because it's really compact, very high quality video and audio. If you had more money, Canon makes some really good DSLRs that also get fantastic video. The R5 is what I use for more production quality things. And then microphones, wireless mics with Bluetooth are really good. I use the Rode VideoMic Pro 2, I think is what it's called, but it's wireless and it works really, really well. And then for editing, I use iMovie because it's super easy to use and super simple. That's what I would recommend for equipment.

When it comes to equipment, my advice is always the same, and that is make sure that you start simple. Don't go buy a bunch of stuff. Don't worry a whole lot about it. But there's really just a couple things you need to keep in mind. You start with your phone. That's usually going to be your best tool, your best camera, especially with the quality that they are today. But make sure you can be heard well and understood well with your audio, and that might require investing in a wireless mic. And then the second one is make sure you're well lit. I've got a big light right here, a big light over here right now so that you can see me clearly, but more important than that is that audio. So start small, start simple. Eventually you may want to upgrade and get a mirrorless camera, a DSLR, some additional lighting and microphone equipment, all that kind of stuff, but don't worry about that. Start with what you have, basically, and put yourself in a good spot where you can be heard well, and you can do all of it with really just your phone to get started.
