Well, at first you don't make anything. I was just telling one of my kids today, you know, all the best jobs in the world don't pay anything or don't pay much of anything at the beginning. But um, there's a lot of potential. I don't have big channels by any means, but after about about nine months, we were making $1,000 a month and that was kind of our goal. We wanted to just test it out and see if that was possible and And actually, unfortunately, we, we sort of quit our main channel, uh, for a long time, right when we hit that point, we sort of met our goal and, and, uh, and stopped. And looking back, had we kept on going, it, it probably would have been about 10 times bigger now. Um, just based on the growth that had been happening for nine months, we have another channel that actually did better, made, made more money with fewer viewers than even that one.

So how much money do you make on YouTube? I get that question all the time. And I think it's funny because I remember when we first started getting pennies and it was so exciting to me. This idea like I made a video and I got paid 10 cents. Awesome! Like I got paid to make videos even though it was so small. And just watching that number grow. You know one month we made $5. Like that's, you know, you can go to get a couple of hamburgers, you know, and the next month we're making 10. Oh, you know, it's gross. Like we doubled. And just getting excited about small wins and watching it slowly grow to the point where it was making a couple hundred dollars a month. And before you know it I had matched my full-time income and I could quit my full-time job because I was making more money on YouTube than on my full-time job. And that's exciting. So it has a lot of potential.

When it comes to income, we have had highs and lows, and we don't always share exactly numbers because it's interesting, but we find that people will look at us differently depending on what those numbers are. And so it's kind of hard to want to share that, but I would say that for the most part, I just don't want to keep my attitudes and my feelings tied too closely to whatever amount of money we make, because that can be really dangerous for mental stability, if that makes any sense at all. But we have had really great months that have been like the dream, and then of course we've had really low months that have been discouraging, but that it all evens out eventually.

For my channel, we do a lot of covers, and so we end up having to share a bit of the revenue with whoever we're doing a cover with. Usually it's Disney. And so we actually have a different company called Super Bam that we send our music to, and then they claim the songs on our channel so that other people can't claim the songs. And then when they claim it, they pay a percentage to Disney. So it ends up being about 30 percent of what we make goes to Disney, which is fair because that's actually how Disney is the reason in this example of why we got that many views, or it has helped. So yeah, roughly it's like every thousand views is a dollar. So it slowly can add up, and if you get a viral video, it can really add up.
