One time I had a contact reach out to me, not someone I knew, and he said, hey, I have a company that makes bulletproof cars. And I was like, that's awesome. He said, I want to work with you. I've seen your YouTube channel and I want to see if we can do a project together. So I was like, I'm totally down for that. So he and I brainstormed for a little bit and I pitched the idea. I said, what if I 3D print a Stormtrooper armor suit, the entire thing, and then you make it bulletproof. Would you be down for collabing on that? And he was like, sure. So that's exactly what happened. We made a bulletproof Stormtrooper suit. Then we took it to a shooting range and I got in it like I was about to get shot. And then we switched it out, put a dummy in there because I didn't want to actually take that risk. But we shot it up at a gun range and just had a blast doing it. And it did actually stop the bullets and was a pretty cool experience and looking forward to working with him again.

I love YouTube in that you can reach people all over the world and you never know the impact you are gonna have. My daughter received in her P.O. box one day a letter from someone with like a check for $1,000 and he was offering her the money to create her next video, but he shared this story about how one of her videos had really helped him after the loss of a family member, I think it's his mom who died, but I just love how it's a way to connect people all over the world and I also love the fact that you have no idea how you can impact people and so don't always think about YouTube as an opportunity for you to get something, for you to get rich. Think about the impact that you can have on people and how you can help them in their lives and kind of make their life better.

Okay, crazy story. I'm in a youth group at our church, and I was helping the young women there, and we had this great activity, and then at the very end, this girl walks up to me and says, so the very first day I ever came to church, I totally recognized you from YouTube, and I have watched like all of your videos, and I was just like, what? Are you kidding me? Like, this came out of nowhere. I've been around her for a long time, did not know, and she was just like, yeah, we've totally wanted to like come up and take a picture with you at church and all that stuff. I was like, really? That was so crazy, because it was, it just came out of nowhere, you know. We haven't had a lot of viral videos recently, so it was just so funny that we had her recognize us and know exactly who we are, and it's very strange feeling for people to know who you are, and you don't know them.

Some of the crazy stories we've had are what surprises me every time when I meet a fan. Anytime I meet somebody that has watched our videos always surprises me. But when I hear about you know if we get letters from people and we hear about stories about how you know our videos got them through a hard time. It's like almost unbelievable. I don't realize the impact that I have and so when I hear people share with me how special our videos are to them and what a difference it's made in their life like that's just it's crazy to me, but it's so cool. It's super inspiring and I just love what that impact is that we don't even see when we're creating it and why we're doing it. And to be able to bless others lives through our videos is awesome.

One crazy experience I had on YouTube is just that our most viewed video is one about accents, and it took literally like three minutes to film and like one minute to edit, or you know, couple minutes to edit. Then I published it and didn't do anything special with the title, didn't do a custom thumbnail, and it has more than 10 million views and still gets thousands of views every single day. With YouTube it's kind of crazy, there's not a high correlation between the amount of time you put into editing a video and the amount of views it gets. And so the best advice I could give you is just to publish regularly. Some of your videos are going to fly, most aren't going to get a lot of views, but some of them will. And if you get in the habit of publishing, you know, one to five videos a week and you do that regularly, eventually, you know, you might have one of the five kind of pull in regular views and that will kind of grow a baseline for your channel.
