Driving in Benin is absolutely insane, and Togo as well, but it's a little bit worse in Benin when you look at the motorcycles. They call them motos or jimijan. They just take people around, they're like taxi motorcycles. And tips are, never get on one, ever, because they crash so much. They're super, super dangerous. Just take a bus or take a taxi, and then just watch the natives how they cross the street. It's crazy. Crossing the streets is the worst thing. I hated it so much, but just be careful. Just look both ways, and watch how the natives do it, and kind of follow suit. You're going to get ripped off. You're going to get the white man's price. Whenever you go up to somebody, they're going to try to give you a race price. You ask like, how much is this? And they will say something that is always going to be above what you want, or what it's actually worth. So what you're going to have to do is ask your companions what the price of things are before you buy them. Don't ever just buy something that someone says, this is the price, and you pay him. Never do that.
