Holidays - Sweden Video Transcripts

I loved the holidays in Sweden. I think they really know how to do it. Christmas, it's not just like one day of Christmas, it's like three or four days of like Christmas. So on Christmas Eve is the big day, which I thought was different because usually it's Christmas Day for us. But yeah, so Christmas Eve was the huge day and then the day after was like kind of like recuperate, but still like a fun Christmas Day. And yeah, it's just so festive and there's lights everywhere, especially when it's dark all day, like you need it. And then in the summer, they have something called midsommar, where everyone makes these flower crowns and then they like run around this pole, this maypole. And it is so fun. There's so many different holidays throughout the year and they really do know how to celebrate.

So as much as I love midsummer, which is actually in June, not July, I also really love Christmas in Sweden. It's so dark during the winter, but everybody puts stars in their windows and they're lit up by candles and lights. So even though it's super dark outside, everybody has lights in the windows and it just reflects off the snow. So it's really beautiful and bright and kind of distracts you from the fact that it's cold in winter and you're just so happy it's Christmas.

One of my favorite holidays in Sweden is midsommar. It's the beautiful summer celebration in the middle of July and everybody gets together, you make flower crowns, you dance around a maple, you eat delicious food, and everyone just is so happy to be celebrating and dancing and celebrating summer. The weather is beautiful, there's sunshine the whole night. It's a great day.
