Etiquette is huge when it comes to surfing. Biggest thing is just where like your placement in the lineup or paddling back or going for a wave is so huge. Just being self-aware of where you are compared to other people in the water. Especially there's been a few times where I've been riding a wave and there's someone who is definitely a beginner but doesn't really know etiquette and they don't get out of the way or they paddle right into you while you're on a wave and that is just one of the most frustrating things when they don't try and get out of the way so then you have to get off of the wave so it's kind of frustrating. And same with going for a wave, sometimes you're on a wave and then someone will pop up right in front of you and you're just like ah but yeah.
