As an Australian-born Samoan, I didn't actually get to visit Samoa until I was a teenager, and I guess culturally I am connected. So when I first saw the coastal lights from above Samoa, I felt an instant connection. And then when you finally jump off the plane, straight away when the doors open, you feel that heat just hit your face, and in a strange way it was kind of pleasant to me. But yeah, my first impressions of Samoa were most definitely positive. I had an instant love for Samoa when I arrived there.
