Did you know that your teeth and gums can change during your pregnancy? So it's really important that you maintain good oral health cleanings during your pregnancy. Sometimes people don't think about that during their pregnancy, but it's even more important during that time. Any infection in your body can increase your risk of having a preterm delivery to include oral infections. So again, you want to make sure that you're going to your dentist, getting regular cleanings. If you happen to notice that your gums are a little bit swollen, more tender, you can also try using a softer toothbrush, change out your toothbrush. You can rinse your mouth with just a warm salt water solution, and hopefully that will help alleviate some of that pain and tenderness you might be experiencing.
