Because bad things happen to good people. Sometimes we need to prove to ourselves that we would do the right things in any situation. We need to prove to ourselves that we will keep God's commandments in any situation. This life is a test to see if we will do everything that God commands us to do in any situation. And because of this, sometimes the situations that we encounter are difficult. But it is because God loves us that we do so.
