To keep a child safe, it means to give a child love, care.

I would say establish the rule of like a buddy system, where if you have young children they have to be with an older sibling buddy. I also think it's really helpful not, you know, to keep them safe from online dangers, you know, not to give them a cell phone when they're a child, not to give them free access to a computer. If you have a computer, have it in a place where you can see what sites they're visiting and restrict their access to sites like Facebook. That could be dangerous and have harmful stuff on it. I think another thing that's good is to do role playing with your children to tell them specific scenarios and maybe even act them out and have the children respond with exactly how they should respond. It's like, how should you respond if a stranger knocks on the door and mommy is not right there, daddy's not there. Should you open the door? No, you shouldn't. You know, what should you do if an adult walks towards the backyard? Should you go and talk to the adult? Should you run in and let mommy or daddy know that there's an adult there? Things like that.
One thing we do to help keep my kids safe is we got custom rubber bracelets that have one contact number on it so it has my cell phone number as well as their address they put that on anytime we're going out with a big event or things like that just in case they forget our phone number or are panicked when they're lost that they have this address as well as a phone number that anybody can call and contact me as well and we also do the gap watches that way our kids who are now a little bit older can still contact us on their own and we can mark their location.
Some ideas for keeping children safe. One would be to have a fenced off backyard. I am so grateful every day that we have, you know, a chain link fenced off backyard. And then also a privacy screen is kind of nice to have to throw on your chain link fence. Super easy to do. Also getting a camera set up can be super helpful. Either Wyze camera or a Blink camera system. Super smooth, super simple system. Pretty reasonable pricing. I think for Blink, you know, if you want to save all the video recordings in the cloud, it costs like $3 a month per camera or it's like free to just get live feeds and notifications, I think. And then another idea would be to set up a concave mirror where you can see out your window or a convex mirror and you can see surroundings in the backyard easier.
