I go to BYU and they had a free counseling service, CAPS, that really helped me a lot to figure out where my anxieties were coming from and what I was dealing with and to help me overcome it. They met with me as long as I needed to meet with them and I'd highly suggest finding your way of getting that wherever you're at if it's free counseling or figuring out a way to get whatever counseling you need.

So one of the main resources that I've seen that is really helpful for OCD is cognitive behavioral therapy. This has been shown to be among the most successful forms of therapy for people with OCD and group therapy as well actually. So there's luckily in the world there's becoming less of a stigma about therapy but there should be no reason why anyone should feel you know nervous or not nervous but feel unwelcome or feel not supported in going to therapy. It can truly benefit people and those specific forms cognitive behavioral therapy and group therapy have shown to be helpful for people with OCD.

Some very good resources for OCD are, first of all, the International Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation. They have an excellent website full of resources and suggested reading material. Also, YouTube has several wonderful channels, Ali Grayman, The OCD Girl, there are several. You would just type in intrusive thoughts into the search engine and up will come a plethora and a laundry list of fantastic videos and clips that have very helpful tips for how to deal with intrusive thoughts and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

So another important resource for OCD is shown to be medication often diagnosed as a result of either seeing the doctor or through therapy through a psychiatrist. That is shown to have a lot of improvement for people's compulsions and also because OCD will often coincide with other mental health issues such as anxiety or depression obviously there's several prescriptive drugs that can help with that as well.
