Sometimes with OCD, you just want everything to be a certain way, and you think of it as something that you value. Some of the things that you have compulsions towards you think are very important. It's not necessarily all bad things. However, sometimes you have values that don't align with everybody else's values. In a relationship specifically, um, I sometimes have tried to impose my values on my spouse, and that is just not the way that it works. You have to look at their values and ask yourself, are they accomplishing what they value as a person? Encourage them to do their values, but be very careful not to impose yours, over, like, over-impose yours when they are not shared values. But it's okay to do your values for yourself.
