Some safety advice, make sure you bring a flashlight, especially if it becomes pitch black or if the power goes out. Something else that's really important is to make sure you're not out too late. Sometimes there's drunk people around. So just be careful of talking around drunk people. You never know what they have on them. They can have a knife, pistol, machete, whatever. So just be careful around them. Basically trying to stay in the most public areas late at night where there's a lot of people and things like that.

So they have ways of like transportation in Nicaragua. They have little, they're like taxis, but they're actually just people on bicycles and they have like carts. So they pedal behind you and then you're riding in this little cart. There's no seat belts or anything. You just kind of hop in and hope that they don't like break it really fast, otherwise you'll go flying. But it's really fun. It's a little terrifying at first, but once you get the hang of it, they're awesome and they help you because you don't have to walk as far and you can just pay to take you on a bike ride.

It's really easy to get sick there with mosquitoes, with the water. I got parasites and the biggest thing is to be careful with those things. Recognize when if someone gives you water from a well or from a place that doesn't look very good, make sure you refuse those things and don't put that stuff in your body because you will get sick.

So, the dogs, try to stay away from them. I got bit, which if you stay clear of the dogs, you're not, you don't have anything to worry about. It was just a freak accident. But the dogs definitely can have rabies. You just don't know, so try your best not to agitate them, to stay away from them. You just, you just don't know what they have and you don't want something to happen where you get scratched or bit by one of the dogs.

People really don't have, sometimes don't have doors or you can't really knock on the door, so when you go up to the door you always say buenas. Buenas just means it's basically like hello or like good morning or good day. So you basically just say buenas. If they open the door they always say buenas right back and that's how you can basically respond to people and get into people's houses.

Bring a strong umbrella. They don't call it Nicaragua for nothing. Pack light as far as clothes. We can get clothes for dirt cheap over there. Bring quality toothbrushes. The ones that they have there are pretty generic. Good water boots. It rains a lot. It floods a lot. Also don't bring very flashy things. It's a third world country and people there are in need. So if they see those things, there are some thugs, there are people who can potentially do you harm. So just to be careful, bring very plain things, very generic brand things.
