In Malaysia, there's a large variety of languages. The three most used languages are Malay, Mandarin Chinese, and English. If you only speak English, you will be able to get around in Malaysia. Especially in the capital city, Kuala Lumpur, you'll be able to get around there no problem. The bigger a city is, the more likely you'll be able to get around there with just English. But even in the smaller cities, you'd be able to survive and people can understand enough English to help you get where you need and what you need.
