Malagasy people are absolutely horrified of chameleons, which is one of the most popular animals they have there. So if you ever find a chameleon while you're there, you can just put your hand down flat in front of the chameleon, it'll just walk right on up. Don't grab it, it'll bite you. But if you have the chameleon on your hand, at that point you can chase the natives around and they will scream. They think that its tongue is going to eat their eyeball out of their head. That's what I've been told at least.

So some interesting facts about Malagasy in Madagascar is that the average Malagasy person is about 5'6 for men. So they're pretty short people. And their ancestry is some African, some Indian, Middle Eastern, but most of it is actually Indonesian, which is why Malagasy is a lot more like that than it is a lot of African countries. They're one of the largest rice per capita eaters in the world. So you eat a lot of rice. And then another cool fact is settlers came to Madagascar in like 600 AD. But before that, they believed. So that's the Malagasy people that came from Indonesia. But they believed that there were tiny like pygmy people called Vizimba that lived there before who practiced like witchcraft and stuff. And lots of people still believe that those people are in Madagascar and just away hiding in the woods.
