Lithuania has become a really big filming location in the past couple years because of the recent popularity of the HBO miniseries Chernobyl. A lot of it is filmed in Vilnius. I think Catherine the Great, which is another Hulu series, I think a fair bit of it was also filmed in Lithuania. And then surprisingly, Stranger Things 4 is also getting filmed in Lithuania as well. So if you want to check out Lithuania, you know, not through pictures and like really outdated YouTube videos, you want to see like kind of what it looks like right now. Super beautiful country, but definitely check those out. I really highly recommend it.

So Lithuania is rich with culture and history and folklore and whatnot. Something I did not realize is that there's a really cool quote I remember reading where someone was just like, if Egypt is known for their pyramids, then Lithuania is known for their songs. Lithuania is a very, very musical country. Very proud of their instruments and their cultural heritage and whatnot. Another thing too, Klaipeda, it's a coastal city, a little German colonial town. It's super, super pretty, only downtown though. But it stems from two words, Klaides and Peta, which basically means mistaken foot. And it results from this old Lithuanian tale where these two brothers, they were both in separate tribes, but they were searching for a new homeland. One guy basically said he was going to go check out like a swampy area. He got eaten by a dragon. But the other guy, his brother that came in to go search for him, he found his lone footstep prince in the sand. And so that's the name where Klaipeda comes from. Just kind of interesting stuff, but you'll learn along the way.

Lithuanians, um, they say this thing, nah, it kind of is a um or like a yeah, so it's like, how you doing? And you're like, nah, I'm good, you know, I'm good, or nah, it could be seen this way. But when I first went out, it sounded like everyone was saying no. So they're like, no. And you'd be like, well, hey, like, is there a time that we could like, talk and we could teach you more about it? Like, no, yeah. And so it was really confusing. They don't have, um, dryers, drying machines for your clothes or dishwashers. So you do everything by hand, um, for your dishes and then you have to put them out on drying racks, your clothes.
