In Lithuania, and especially in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, a really common thing to do in the fall is something called gräbauting, which is mushroom hunting. And so in the fall, literally the whole population, they go out into the woods for a couple days or even weeks to go hunt after these highly sought mushrooms, which are really good raw. They're really freaking good oven roasted, but they're quite delicious even pickled. They invited us to go mushroom hunting. So we thought we were going to go to like a little forest, like a half hour outside of the city. So we basically went on like a two and a half hour road trip south to near the Belorussian border. That whole day, we spent basically picking the wrong kind of mushroom. And very quickly, we learned two words, nuadingas and naudingas, which is basically a difference between useful and poisonous. And we kind of picked the poisonous ones for the majority of the day, but the raw ones we got a handful of, but we're still pretty upset with this nonetheless.
