Extreme weather - Lithuania Video Transcripts

There was a summer where we got hit with thunderstorms a lot. Like every, it'd be like sunny, then it would thunderstorm for an hour, and then it'd be sunny again an hour later. So that was kind of cool. It snows, not a, not a crazy amount. Mostly just cold, and then it's just rainy. There's a lot of rain in the fall, winter, spring. Lithuania is literally translated in Lithuanian to the land of rain.

So this is coming from a guy who grew up in Wisconsin for the majority of my life, but literally I didn't find it to ever be too cold. Literally probably the lowest was like negative 15, 20 around there, and that wasn't even too bad for me. Weather there is actually really freaking nice. So during the summer, it's really nice and bright and beautiful. It can sometimes get pretty hot, but you get like a lot of thunderstorms too, and it's rather humid. But the winter and the fall, it's really cold, it's really rainy, low clouds, and I find it rather beautiful. But I would highly recommend bringing like a good stockpile of vitamin D, because in the winter the sun literally like gets up at like 10 and sets at 2, so you only have like three or four hours of actual daylight. So just keep that in mind.

Well, I served in Lithuania, or Lietuva, and Lietuva literally means the land of rain, like it rains all the time there. It also gets really cold in the winter, but my story is about some crazy rain that was happening. One time I was in a chalet, we were tracting and we were going around, and it was kind of in the spring when it's still cold, you kind of have to wear your big coat, but it's not that cold. And it was getting a little warm, and then all of a sudden people just started clearing out of the streets, and we're like, whoa, this is kind of weird, but we just kept on going around tracting and trying to find people, and then this huge rainstorm came down, like flooded the entire streets everywhere, and we were completely drenched, and we just went out through it. It was so much fun, and sometimes you'll get freak rainstorms like that, and other times it'll just be bitter cold, but it's always the best. It's always a blast.

Okay, extreme weather would be the snow in days and very cold days where it would get minus 25, minus 32 Celsius degrees during the winter time and would last for quite a long time and you get just snow keep on coming and coming and probably thunderstorms, those are very common, you just get used to them. And yes, you get those showery rains that can be extreme to the point that you can be soaked in a couple of minutes, but not much of a rain, it doesn't last for so many days.
