People think they're kind of lazy. The biggest part of their job is just being ready. You know, if there is an emergency, they have to be prepared and be able to act on that. But in the meantime, if there's not an emergency, the job isn't too bad. You get to kind of just relax and and watch people swim. But most of the work that you have to do as a lifeguard goes behind the scenes, training and being ready to go when when the time comes.
