Largest misconception about being a librarian is that we're boring or that our jobs are boring. I often hear people say, oh you have a master's degree? I didn't know librarians needed a master's degree to stamp books. That is a huge misconception. My job is very intellectual, very stimulating, very different. I study, I research everything from legal statutes to mini nuclear reactors. It's fascinating to me. I learn something new every day and it's been, like I said, a really good career for me. I go to work and I'm excited to go to work. I'm looking forward to going to work. It's a huge benefit. You don't want to be going to work in a place that you find boring.
