It's definitely a safe place. I would just be aware. There was a lot of times we were chased by drunk men, and so just be aware. And if you do see that happening, just get out of the area. You know, they don't usually follow super long, and they're drunk, so you can go faster than them. And then in the winter, just be extra careful. You have to wear a reflective device. It's required by law. But also, just be careful when crossing the street. A lot of times, they won't see you or the buses won't stop in time. So just be careful on crossing the streets.

Especially if you are an American woman, make sure that you are always checking your surroundings. There have been countless of times where we have been followed, where we were stopped, in one case someone tried to grab me and my companion. So always, always, always be vigilant of where you are, who you are with, even if it's on the bus, make sure you're not going anywhere, that there's not a lot of people, especially at night. There are certain places to avoid, so make sure to really talk and ask where those sketchy places are. Just anything in the dark, and where people aren't like, not public places, are places to be cautious of.
