When in Italy, be careful of your hand gestures, because going like this at someone's face is almost as bad as flipping them off or biting your hand like this, so don't do that.
As an Italian it's difficult to focus on which are the best, the most common hand gesture. Of course that is the more common, but you have to look at the face of the person who's doing the gesture because that can give a different interpretation. Like if you say, it means like, but what are you talking about? Or if you go like, it's like, hey man, what do you want? What are you looking at? There is this gesture, that means later, that. Now when someone says, maybe I'm gonna win the lottery, and you go, I hope. And then if someone says something that is very jinxy, let's bad luck, we go like that, towards the floor.
So it's true what they say about the hand motions, like the language, the Italian language is very much based on hand motions and your inflection and in your tone. And so basically, I talk with my hands a lot. If I wasn't holding the phone right now, I would be talking more, but they have a lot of interesting things like this means I don't care, but this is really bad in sign language. So be careful who you do that to. And then this is like a long time ago, or, or this is like, that was good food like buono. And then, man, there's so much. This is like, pristine, like this is perfect. Like, that was so fancy and neat. And then you can't forget about this is kind of like, like, you're the worst.
If you go like this, like above your head, that means like crazy in Italy, whereas like this, if it's low, it means it stings just like here in the US. If you're hungry, then you can like go like this in your side with your hand, and it kind of, it means you're hungry, that you have hunger. If you do this, it means like it's about to die, so like if you can, you can say this about like your phone or whatever you want, someone, if you're mad at them, but yeah, those are just a couple more gestures that you can do in Italy, some fun ones.
