If you've seen Mulan and know the part where the old grandma is crossing the road with a cricket to see if it's lucky, I feel like that is Italy. When you are crossing the street, honestly, most Italians don't even look, they just go for it. And my first situation with that, I watched, it was exactly like Mulan. This old grandma was crossing the road and it's heavy traffic going fairly fast, and she just doesn't even look, she just went for it. And it was just the scariest thing to watch this crazy old lady crossing, but all of the cars stopped or went around her and worked around it, and it was like the most casual thing in the world. No one honked their horn, no one yelled at her, it was completely normal. So that was something that I saw that I thought was really funny.

I was walking down the street with my companion when this person came up to us. She was a little old lady, she was probably like 80 or something. And we said, how are you doing? And she's like, oh, why are you smiling? Because I was smiling at her. And I said, oh, nothing, I'm just, I'm happy. And they're Americans. I said, I'm not American, I'm Italian. Clearly I'm not. And she punched me really hard in the chest. And she's like, liar. And I was like, shocked that she punched me. And I was still smiling because I was just kind of shocked. And she's like, why are you smiling? Did your mom make you gnocchi? Gnocchi is a type of pasta. So anyway, me and my companion started running away because she said, I'm going to punch you where the sun doesn't shine. So that was a fun story with a little Italian lady.

So one time I'm walking across this really really really really old bridge, it's called Ponte Vecchio, and I'm just walking, minding my own business, and there's an Italian man who's jogging, but I can't see him because he's behind me, but I hear, out of nowhere, kind of high-pitched, American boy! I get a little slap on my behind that took me by a lot of surprise, and he just kept on running. Didn't know what to think about it, but I got a good giggle out of it.
