So I was diagnosed with insomnia when I was 13 years old and it was really hard for a few months and even a couple years because I was missing out on a lot of things. I couldn't go to school a bunch of times, couldn't participate in just like normal everyday activities and fun things, couldn't really hang out with my friends as much because I was always exhausted. I was not getting any sleep. I wouldn't fall asleep until like 5 a.m, 6 a.m for a few months. So I went and saw a doctor and he prescribed trazodone which wasn't very useful at first. So we had to go back several times to up the dosage and eventually we got to a point where it was extremely high dosage and it was taking a toll on my body and it was really hard but after a while it started to work and I was able to over the next few years taper off and lower my dosage and now I'm at a point where I don't need to take any sort of medication. I'm able to fall asleep.
