One of our favorite homeschool traditions happened on the first day of school every year. We would have a visit from the bookworm and basically what it was is that it was just like Christmas. The children would wake up and they'd find surprises that the bookworm would have left for them to start this first day of school. And usually these were things related to what they would need for school. They would get markers and pencils and notebooks and all the fun things that they would need. And sometimes we would even have a homeschool shirt that we would get that day. So that was a fun tradition and I highly recommend it.
