If I could change one in specifically American history, I would change the transition away from Abraham Lincoln's intended reconstruction efforts at the closure of the Civil War to Andrew Johnson's reconstruction efforts. I think that set back the civil rights movements, the equality movement in the country by several decades, almost a century in fact. I feel like a lot of the issues and hardships our country would face regarding equality and freedoms would have been avoided and maybe dealt with early in our history.
