They are kind of a poor people. They don't have a lot of luxuries that we do. Sometimes they won't even have a working, like, bathroom. Like, they'll have a toilet, but you have to, like, throw water in the toilet to have it flush. But interestingly enough, everybody has a smartphone or a TV, so that is something that's interesting. They won't have a floor, they'll just have dirt floors or a shingled roof, like, it's called lamina. It's just metal. But they will have a smartphone, and they will have their plasma screen TV. And most everybody uses motorcycles. I learned to not like motorcycles because they're very noisy. Very few people have cars, only rich people have cars, and everyone will have a motorcycle.

Something that I found very interesting about Guatemala is there's two types of people. Those who love the United States and want to be here and those who hate the United States and think we're some great huge problem to them. So be very careful how you talk about home because some people will want to hear everything about your home and think it's just so cool and will want you to marry their son or daughter so that they can go to the States with you. It gets a little crazy sometimes but other people will yell at you in the streets and scream at you because you're from the States. So you have to be just careful and more than anything disrespectful. Just don't say anything unnecessarily and be wise.

There is a volcano called Tahumulco, which is the tallest volcano in Central America. The east side of Guatemala has somewhat populated with Germans because of the World War II, when the German generals and leaders all fled down to South and Central America, a lot of them fell into Guatemala, and that populated some Germans around on the east The tuk-tuks that everyone took around, like the three-wheeled taxis that you would ride in, actually came from Asia and were imported a long, long time ago and became super popular in Guatemala.
