I work as a dental assistant and about to start dental hygiene school. What's awesome about flossing is even if you do start to have like gum recession, so like gingivitis, gum disease, if you floss like religiously, right, every single day, even multiple times a day after you eat, there's a way for you to like reverse it as long as it hasn't gotten like too far, as long as your gingivitis hasn't receded or your gums haven't receded too far. And that's just by flossing. You can reverse it and get your pink and healthy gums back. So if you feel like you're maybe noticing some recession of your gums or gingivitis, I would just suggest flossing. I know it's hard, but just keep a little pick next to your bed at night and when you're watching TV and just floss.
