Safety advice - France Video Transcripts

So in France, the pedestrian always has the right of way, no matter what, basically. One thing you do have to be careful of is crossing the street, because you kind of start getting the habit of not looking both ways when you cross the street, because you can cross and the cars will stop every time. But that's definitely something to look out for. I remember a couple of times I almost got hit because I wasn't looking to see if there was a car. I just went, and you definitely want to avoid that. It's better to be on the cautious side.

There are some cities and areas that are just not safe at all and you should just avoid them at all costs. I went to a city called Monts-la-Jolie and while the centreville or the centre of the city was fairly nice and there's just a lot of old French people that don't really care, the further out you go the more dangerous it gets. Just make sure you watch out where you're going and talk with some locals and make sure that you kind of have a good idea of where is safe and where is not. Make sure you listen to people that know what's going on. Overall I'd say France is a pretty safe place but you got to watch out for some of those sketchy parts of town.

Some safety advice I would give to people while traveling in France, more specifically in Paris, is watch out for pickpockets. They're really nasty, really around the big tourist sites and they're pretty darn good, so make sure you protect your stuff.
