I think one interesting thing about France is that, kind of like how the United States is broken up into states, France is broken up into different regions like Normandy, La Bretagne, Paris, and the Ile de France. And so, one thing that's really cool is to get to know the different cultures of each region because it's kind of different in the different places they have their different cultures, almost like architectural styles and different foods. So I think get to know what makes that region special because by asking the French people about where they live, it shows them that you're interested in them and it helps you create a bond with them. Plus if you ask them about food, they will cook food for you, so do that.

The town of Perpignan is near the Spanish border on the Mediterranean coast and it's a lovely little Spanish town with lots of Spanish speakers in it. If you speak French and Spanish you're going to be well equipped for Perpignan. And there's a little town near there called Pertuis and it's on the border of Spain and France and the border runs right down the middle and there's stuff in French and in Spanish. It's kind of like the Tijuana of France. Anyway, we went there once and it was pretty fun.

There's like a mini country inside of France called Breton or Brittany in English. It's the western part of France and everyone out in Breton has their own culture, their own foods, they even have their own language, though they mainly speak French.
