Experiences with yoga - Fitness Video Transcripts

I have to say that yoga is super nice. At first, people feel a little weird about it, but I love yoga. It is a great way to just stretch and recover. Honestly, after I do it, it just feels everything else. I feel like it prevents injury, helps you stay stretched out, and so I highly recommend doing yoga if you haven't. There's always classes in any local area. If you have universities that you can go to, like clubs or groups that do it, or just take a class for it, but if not, there's always going to be a gym that has yoga classes, so I highly recommend doing that. I loved it. It really helped me recover from some back pain, so I'd highly recommend doing some yoga.

So I've had many different experiences with yoga. We would do yoga during practice, like kind of our warm-ups growing up, or I've done hot yoga before. I don't love hot yoga. I don't, I don't know what it is. It's just not my favorite thing. I get really light-headed already just doing yoga on its own, so adding the heat and humidity is not good for me, but other people love it. My favorite yoga is yoga on the beach. I'm from Florida, so we happen to do beach yoga or sunrise yoga a lot, and that's really fun, and it's just a great way to wake up in the morning. So if you can do some type of sunrise yoga, or if you're on vacation or anything, beach yoga is great.

So I've only tried yoga a couple of times but it's actually way harder than you'd expect. I really enjoyed being able to slow down and just get in tune with my body and really just understand what my body was experiencing.

Never in my life have I had, like, my hips pop more than when I was consistently doing yoga. I did yoga for a semester, and, like, the biggest ones that they taught us were, like, hip opening exercises, and all of them, like, my hips popped all the time while I was in that class, and then after I'd leave and, like, everything would stabilize, I'd keep popping. It was crazy, but I felt a lot better. Like, I felt looser, and I felt like I could walk easier, everything like that. The flexibility is really nice, and just kind of the calming atmosphere that keeps things, like, steady, I guess. So, I mean, I would recommend yoga to anybody, but just be prepared to have things pop in ways that you haven't before.

Underrated.

I definitely recommend yoga. Yoga is awesome. If you're looking for a good yoga program, I recommend the old school P90X yoga. That's that disc, the Yoga X. Extremely well. It's not as kind of laid back. It really is intense. It gives you a good workout, but at the same time, your muscles will definitely thank for you. Coming from a guy who's played multiple sports, you know, just that kind of mainstream basketball, football, and all that, and just having the worst flexibility, going for about a month or so using that yoga, doing that program more or less, completely changed my life. It helped me health-wise in so many different ways.

I just wanted to say how grateful I am that I tried yoga many years ago and found out the benefits of practicing yoga and the strengthening of your core muscles and just calming your mind and becoming one with your body was a great experience and an eye-opener and I hope to be able to attend many more yoga sessions.

I've had times in my life when I've struggled a lot with anxiousness and just like obsessive thoughts and for me yoga is so so good. It really helps me to center myself and I even feel like sometimes for me like yoga and meditation can be like a spiritual experience because it's a time when I can really just clear my mind and leave room for the spirit to speak to me and so for me yoga really helps me mentally and spiritually and physically.

I don't know a whole lot about yoga, but I have done a few different classes and a few different trainings. For me, personally, I once went to a hot yoga class, so it's where the temperature is really high in the yoga studio and it kind of makes you sweat more, but I just I didn't love that particular type of yoga. But I do find that yoga can be really soothing on your muscles and it can also be really great for meditating and just kind of clearing your mind. I also really like the P90X yoga instruction. That one is a little more intense. It's actually super difficult. I can't even do all of the moves on there. However, it helped me to get a really good workout in while still doing yoga.
