Video 1 Transcript
There are a lot of conditions that can coexist with fibromyalgia, and for me, all of the ones that I for sure have so far, I was diagnosed with years prior to fibromyalgia. The accessory navicular bones that I have in my feet, they're just extra bones that cause more frequent pain and injury in my legs and in my feet. Actually is not a common comorbidity with fibromyalgia. However, sometimes it's hard to distinguish what is causing the pain. And so I would definitely recommend being very clear on what your comorbid conditions are so that you can kind of distinguish between what is needed. The other conditions that I have that do often coincide with fibromyalgia are anxiety and depression, along with migraines and chronic daily headaches. These are all familial conditions for me. They're hereditary and they can be much amplified by fibromyalgia and vice versa. So definitely explore what exactly could be causing the symptoms and how to handle those.

Other than fibromyalgia, I'm actually a fairly healthy person. I always say I have structural damage rather than diseases. I have an extremely bad back with seven different diagnoses, and I have sleep apnea. And you can obviously see that I'm overweight. I'm losing rapidly. But actually, the sleep apnea and the arthritis and the osteoarthritis, in addition to the fibromyalgia, is all that I can really say that I have. So I guess, in a way, I'm lucky.

Along with fibromyalgia, I'm diagnosed with bipolar, PTSD, anxiety, depression, diabetes, asthma, and thalassemia. Having all of these combined makes it very hard to pinpoint which condition is giving me which symptom. Sometimes the treatment for one counter indicates the treatment for the other. So things such as diet are really tough for me. So make sure you know everything there is to know about everything you have.
