What a typical day is like - Entrepreneur Video Transcripts

A typical day for me is not typical. There's so many different hats that I wear. I usually do start early. I'm an early morning person. I don't need an alarm. I just wake up and on my best days I get up and exercise and do some reading and meditation before anyone else in my house is awake. Then I get ready, help them get ready and do a little bit of emailing and writing before I go to the office. Once I'm at the office, my day is often not my own because employees and clients and people stop by, have questions. We're doing some spontaneous collaborations. So I try and leave time for that and then when I get back home I have some family time. I keep an eye on my email throughout the day. I also include social media in my day every day. It's a big part of my business both on my personal brand and also our multiple brands as part of my publishing company and I feel like that's also a part of my day. I try to reflect on the day and before the next day starts I like to plan that day out even down to the hour and it helps me stay on schedule.

What is a typical day like as a young entrepreneur? Well, it's filled with excitement, it's filled with nervousness, because you don't know where that next buck is coming from. But let me tell you, every day I take 20 minutes at the beginning of my day to organize the rest of my day. And so I have an extensive list of quote-unquote to-dos. And so every day I'll go and I'll take a look at that, I'll see what I accomplished the previous day, and then I'll look at my email, I'll look at my texts, I'll look at other communications, and then with that information I will add to my list of to-dos. And so my email that I send myself is Tuesday's to-dos or Wednesday to-do, etc. I look at that, I follow it religiously, and that makes for a successful day as an entrepreneur.

I wish I had a really good answer for this, but every day is kind of different with what we're doing. Whether we're building things in our CRM, talking to customers, collecting data, working with our sales team, it's constantly revolving. We have our high-level markers and we're always doing anything to move towards those KPIs, those key performance indicators, but every day is so different. I don't have a good answer for this. Sometimes I'm here at six in the morning and then I leave at three, take a two-hour break and then I come back. Sometimes I work for only four hours. Sometimes I work all day, have a break for dinner, and then I'm working till two in the morning. That also gets mixed in with my personal schedule. Something to know about entrepreneurship, like your personal life, your business life, and even kind of like your fun, it all kind of blends. That's something that people don't talk about enough. I should have put that in misconceptions. Anyways, what's a typical day like? I don't have a good answer for that because it's always changing.
