Now, as an entrepreneur, it's on you to continue to be educated, okay? Your boss, you, is not going to just naturally set you up for trainings and mentorings, okay? So you're going to have to do that on your own. I'm a magazine person, so I'm going to recommend that you read Inc. Magazine, Fast Company, and Entrepreneur Magazine. Now, you can read them online, you can read their social channels, or you can subscribe to the print publication. I personally think that the Inc. 500 issue, which comes out each fall, names the top 500 and then 5,000 businesses in the country, is one of the best resources for entrepreneurs. It inspires you, it helps you see how people work through roadblocks, and it helps you see who else in your industry is doing well and succeeding. Be a reader, and you'll be a leader. It's very important. Also, networking groups are valuable, not only to learn from each other, but to also have a network of people who understand what you're going through.

One of my most cherished resources to improving my performance as a CEO and entrepreneur is a book called Blueprint to a Billion. It's an individual that actually got fired from his job as a Silicon Valley-based CEO and he was frustrated by that situation. He had had a disagreement with the board as to which way to turn and to what to do and the long-term strategy of the company. But he rebounded from that. After he left, he decided to write a book on why some companies were successful and why others were not. And so he did an extensive research of VC-funded companies throughout the United States and found, I think the number is roughly 350 of them, that had actually reached a billion in revenue at some point. He then found the seven common characteristics of those companies that had reached a billion in revenue.

The Paul Graham essays. He's the founder of Y Combinator. He has a ton of them. Start with his most popular ones, but even if you're not building a SaaS company or you're building software, amazing insight. Even if you're not being an entrepreneur, they are such good reads, such good insight, and they're not even that long. They're phenomenal. Do it. A couple best books, E-Myth, E-Myth, Revisited as well. Micah Gerber, phenomenal. The Truth About Business, the Dream 100 book is amazing. Traction, Capital Gains about the Gaines family is kind of like a fun one. I have so many I could say there, but the thing also with entrepreneurship is I feel self-help is almost equally as important as the actual business book. So a couple of favorites, The Anatomy of Peace, Leadership and Self-Deception, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, Crucial Conversations, Critical. Read those, all of them.
