Find some good mentors, people that are willing to kind of support you in whatever stage you're at and be able to be able to give you advice or letters of recommendation. It's also helpful to find, you know, kind of friends or colleagues that are just one or two steps ahead of where you want to be and ask them what they did that was, you know, particular things that were helpful for them. But the path in medicine is long and requires a lot of things other than just good grades and test scores. It requires, you know, volunteer experiences, shadowing hours, patient care, interactions, extracurricular things, you know, there's all these extra things that are expected as you pursue a career in medicine and in dermatology as well, research. So it's good to, you know, explore these interests and then ask people who have made it to that next level what specifically they did and, you know, how they could help you get to that next step that you want to be.
