One funny story that wasn't so much funny at the time, but looking back is a little more humorous. While I was an intern, so my first year residency, I was at the VA hospital removing a cyst on a patient's back. And when you do a skin surgery, you numb up the area first with local anesthetic. And cysts are basically sacs that contain dead skin and mixed with bacteria. So they often have like a little yellowish fluid in there that doesn't smell very good. And they have a hole typically where that can drain out of. And it was my first time doing this. I wasn't really sure what I was doing. So I was numbing the cyst. I was a little bit too close and actually injected into the cyst itself. And so that kicked out all that yellow smelly material right into my face. And I wasn't wearing a mask at the time, which was a mistake and it went into my mouth. So I learned the hard way that you always inject the cyst a little bit further out and make sure to wear a mask. Now I know.
