There are lots of dogs in Chile, lots of cats everywhere, so just beware of dogs on the street. You knew, but after a week you know what road's not to walk down because of some crazy dog that's there. Also, if you're an animal person, just resist from touching the animals. They have fleas. My legs still have scars from flea bites, so just avoid the animals because they all have fleas. Another tip is they all have a reja, so they have like gates around all their houses. You yell alo, that's how you get people to come out.

The buses are cheaper than taxis. Taxis, like the yellow one seats in the United States, are the most expensive. And then colectivos are like taxis, but they're more privately owned. Those are cheaper. And the buses are probably the cheapest option, but again, it's not going to drop you off exactly where you want to go. It will just drop you off in a general location. I would suggest buses or subways. Those are a lot cheaper when it comes to transportation in general.

If you're looking to save some money, you can go to places called fedias, they're street markets that happen all across the city, and it's where farmers come in and sell all of their natural produce. So everything that are in the fedias, they're in season and they're very high quality, but it's very cheap because you're buying it from the people who actually grow it.

When you get to Chile, if you want to look like a real pro, they have little coins that are 100 peso pieces. They're called gambas, or gambitas. So when you get one of those the first time, look at a Chilean and say, una gambita, and you'll look really, really cool, and look like you know what you're doing, and you're supposed to be there.

Walmart exists in Chile, but under a different name. So in Chile, it's called Liber. So L-I-D-E-R, they sell all the great value products. So if you're ever like craving American pizza, or drinks, or syrup, or just any of the random things, and you have a liter nearby, then you'll be able to go and pick up like American products because it's the great value brand that they actually have the real great value brand. So that's something that we would do sometimes when we were craving like barbecue sauce or different things that are just like, that we eat here, but it's not big enough in Chile for them to have their own brand.

There are fleas in Chile. Fleas are teeny tiny. They're so tiny that you can't usually see them at the beginning and they come from the dogs, and they come from people's houses, and they like areas of your clothing where it's really tight. So if it's really tight in an area around your wrist, say at your watch, I had issues with the area under my watch. So I was wearing a wrist watch and the fleas would bite me and right under my wrist watch. So any tight area where your clothing is really tight against your skin, the fleas love those areas. So try not to make tight areas of clothing. Also at my waist it was pretty tight, especially in the winter when I had to layer. It was pretty tight there.
