One of the common misconceptions about most of Latin America is everybody eats tortillas. Now Chileans, they mainly eat bread. They eat a lot of homemade bread. They do eat beans, porotos, but they're a larger kind of navy bean. There's a strong German influence in the south, in Osorno, with the longaniza, salchicha, with the seasoned things, empanadas de pino, even had meatloaf down in Osorno, and the kuchen, which is actually a German word, but it's a type of cake.
