I actually have never had a cavity before, and I think some helpful tips to not get them are your basic everyday things of brushing your teeth. Also, like try and stay away from sugary things. I think that also helps.

So one interesting tip that my dentist told me to prevent cavities, I have unfortunately much experience with cavities in my life, is to avoid using fluoride rinse at night or as depending on it I guess for your coating of fluoride on your teeth because a lot of times if you use it before or after brushing your teeth either the rinse didn't really do anything or the brushing of your teeth didn't do anything because it rinsed off the fluoride off your teeth and so likewise actually rinsing your mouth with water after brushing your teeth wipes that fluoride off your teeth and you don't want to do that. So once you brush your teeth it's got fluoride on there, might feel weird at first but just not spitting and rinsing out afterwards is actually has been recommended to me by a dentist.
