So despite being islands, Cape Verde is actually really deserty. You'd think they'd be more tropical, but these islands are very deserty. And so I never really experienced serious rainfall. There was only one storm, like a real storm that I had. Other than that, I would say extreme weather was just, it was so hot. It felt like you had like a hairdryer on you in the summer, like someone was like shooting you with a laser beam. It was so, so hot. In July, we're like, oh, it's so hot. And they're like, you wait till it gets to August.

Now, usually Cape Verde is pretty dry, but on some years it can get a little rainy, especially from the months of July through October, roughly. And this time we got flooded. Like, our house was two, we were on the second story, I think, if not the third, yeah, I think it was the third story, and we actually got flooded. Not that the water came up that high, but just that the rain drove the, I'm sorry, the wind drove the rain in so hard that it flooded our house, and we had to throw away some papers and materials. That was insane. It knocked out electricity, couldn't communicate with people on the other side of the island. It was pretty wild.

It's really, really windy in Cape Verde on almost every island I was on. It was so, so windy. So that's something to be prepared for.
