I think one of my favorite leadership opportunities was actually being a first-year mentor. I remember as a freshman kind of feeling lost and just being so grateful that the orientation we were able to be put into groups and have some mentors that knew a little bit more than us. To then be able to go back and be able to be one of those mentors was just amazing and I felt like I was able to kind of show the freshmen around and just show them like I was in your shoes and this is what I did to kind of be able to progress and stuff like that and also just give them the best advice and just give them a friend because sometimes in college as we're starting we feel like we don't really know anyone so it can be kind of scary but there are many other students that are also in the same boat so it's knowing that you can get through it together and there's there's someone there that wants to be there for you so that's what I thought.
