There are tons of scholarship opportunities. Do not miss out on them. You can literally Google scholarships and just apply for any of them. They don't have to be connected to the school. You could apply for 50 scholarships and you could get one and it can help you out and make the difference in your semester or if you have to work, it could make a huge difference. Apply for everything because you never know if you're gonna be one of the only people who apply and then earn that scholarship.

I got my degree in Recreation Leadership and I work in challenge courses and the big voluntary organization for challenge courses is the Association for Challenge Course Technology or ACCT and they do a scholarship every year on research and it normally does not get filled like one out of five years does it get presented or granted because when people do their bid to receive the scholarship to do the research they don't actually do all of the steps of a research project generally the one they miss is that on your research proposal you need to include a previous research on the subjects and most people just skip that and that's a pretty easy thing to check up and then you get a scholarship for doing your research and evaluation project anyway.

Now, with regards to scholarship opportunities, there are plenty, but you have to apply before the month of March for the entire year. That's what I recommend. Even if you don't foresee at the time that you're going to stay for a third semester in a row, it's better to apply for scholarships for all three semesters before March and then end up reneging on your third semester, say, because you're not taking a swing semester. The opposite to that is deciding you're going to do a third semester and not having any scholarship for it because you had to apply beforehand. So yes, observe that March deadline, apply for the whole year. There are a ton of scholarship opportunities available just through BYUI, and then you can look outside as well. And I say this, most of my semesters, there's only one semester on campus where I didn't have a full tuition scholarship plus talent grants on the sides. So it is possible. You can take my word on that.

Best thing when it comes to BYUI scholarships is the BYUI grant. It is pretty, it's really straightforward. You have to apply for the FAFSA before the month of March and it takes in your cumulative college GPA and if it's a it's it has a couple of different ranges you can look it up on the BYUI website of what those ranges are but it could pay for quarter tuition, half or even full tuition just depending on what your grades were accumulatively throughout college. So I was able to actually get the full ride grant for going to school for one semester and getting up three days. It is really easy, it is really easy to apply for and BYUI wants to reward you for getting good grades and have you continue to go to the school. So they make it really easy with the BYUI grants.

Scholarships do take time and effort to obtain, and you may not get them, but apply for the FAFSA. If you do that, most often you will be able to have all your books forwarded for the semester, and you'll have extra money coming back to you that you can use in any way, shape, and form.

One that I recommend is the Thomas C. Ricks grant that is just anyone at the school can apply to. There's also a lot of music and art scholarships available if you have developed those talents before college time that I definitely recommend applying to. The teachers at BYUI are always wanting to bring better opportunities to students to fund their college experience.

It's not a scholarship, it's a grant that BYU-Idaho has. It's called the Thomas E. Ricks Grant. It's incredible because it's based on your GPA. So if you've been doing really well in school, this can be a way to take some of the financial pressure off so you don't have to stress so much about working while you're going to school so you can still continue without going into the debt with it. It's based on your GPA, so if you have over a 3.5, I think you can get half tuition and then above like 3.8, you can start to get full tuition. So, great opportunity. Fill out your FAFSA and then fill out your Thomas E. Ricks Grant application.
