All I can say is, you have the responsibility to choose what you're going to do, more importantly, who are you going to become. Are you going to become a disciple to be on the right hand of God, or are you going to be on the left hand because you chose to be of the fold of the devil? You get to choose.

As online BYU-Idaho students, there will be times when you feel so tired due to a long view on your screen or your phone. Don't be discouraged at this time. You can take a walk, have a little rest, and then come back and complete your assignment. It's really wonderful studying online, though it has its challenges, but it's very wonderful. You can even be more productive to yourself and you have time for yourself, but whatsoever, don't get discouraged. Thank you.

So if you are a person in BYU-Idaho, but you're also considering taking online classes, because you can do that, you can mix and match like that, it's good to keep in mind that online classes usually have things due Friday or Saturday at like midnight or 10 or something like that. Whereas in-person classes usually have things due, sometimes it's also those weekend times, but often it's also like the night before class the next day or class the next day or something like that. And so something that I noticed is that you probably, a general rule of thumb, is you don't want to do more than two online classes at a time just because the due dates pile up so much at the end of the week and it can really take over your weekend if you get behind throughout the week. So that's good to keep in mind.

So a lot of people joke and say that BYU-Idaho is BYU-Ido, and so people jump in and start dating and try and get married really fast, which is true. I've seen a lot of people do that. A word of caution though, a college experience can be very limiting and isolating when you spend all of your time with one person, and if that doesn't work out, you're going to want to have other friends around you to support you and who you can lean on. So when you start going into this crazy dating world, don't just lock in right away, especially if you don't know what's right.

So I had a roommate my first semester who said this really awesome thing that really stuck with me, but she said to me, BYU-Idaho is a magical place, and she was saying it has this effect that seems almost magical to her, where she's like, literally exactly whatever you put into it, you get out, and you get out tenfold. And so if you are putting in the effort to be a disciple, to serve, to work hard, you will learn so much more than just that. You will learn so much about yourself, how you need to learn, what you need. You will be surrounded by love and support. You will get the strength to ask for help when you need it. There are just so many great things that I learned when I was a student at BYU-Idaho.
