BOUI's college mascot used to be the Vikings and there was a statue of Thor and they used to have school colors of blue and white but in I think 2008-ish they got rid of the mascots and the colors. We used to all go take pictures with Thor.
One of the founders of the school referred to Rexburg as a God-forsaken snow prison. Also when it was dedicated as BYU-Idaho by President Hinckley, he blessed the town that like the weather wouldn't be so temperamental. I just think about how much worse would it be if he hadn't said that. So count your blessings.
One thing that I found interesting on campus, I mean, this you probably already know, but there's a temple right at the corner of campus, just across the street on the lower eastern side. There are many opportunities to serve. I mean, with the Temple Recommend, you can go to the temple, but there's also the opportunity, now this temple is open six days a week from when I was there, it was like six in the morning all the way to nine in the evening. So there are many opportunities to serve as a temple worker, and students are also invited to do so. So that's what I found an interesting fact of campus. Another one, I guess you could say, are the park areas in the middle of the campus. I can't go into detail, only have eight seconds left, but yeah, the temple would be the first one I'd talk about.
If you go with the mindset of having a fun time, you'll have it. If it's successful, you'll have it. If you go with the mindset of I'm nervous, I'm shy and uncomfortable, that's exactly what you have. You choose what you want.
